Lewis Purdy

Hi, I'm Lew. By day I'm a Civil Designer and resident Network Ninja at Sturre Engineering, a civil engineering firm here in the Lowcountry. That means my time is split between designing sites in Civil 3D and keeping the firm's network and technology running smoothly.

Technology has been my trade for almost 20 years. I've supported offices of five people and organizations of several hundred, and led support teams along the way. Today I put that experience to work through my own small business, Purdy Tech Services, helping homes and small businesses around Bluffton and Hilton Head get their technology working the way it should.

Off the clock, I'm usually still tinkering. I enjoy building systems out of smaller computers, taking modest hardware and turning it into something more capable than the parts would suggest. You'll also find me in the booth running sound and lights for May River Theatre, Main Stage Community Theatre, and Sea Glass Stage Company, and when there's a camera in my hand, the results end up in the gallery below.

Whatever I'm working on, I try to bring the same approach: be honest about what something needs (and what it doesn't), explain things without making anyone feel small, and treat every problem like it belongs to a neighbor. Technology should make life easier, and I'm happiest when I've helped make that true for someone.
